Well here we are again and I haven't figured out what to do about my birthday
Two years ago was fun: fancy dinner on my birthday and a chili party at Steve's on Sunday
Last year too was fun: fancy lunch on my birthday and a chili party at Steve's on Sunday

The dilemma this year is that my birthday is on a Sunday

Why, you ask, is that a dilemma?

Here's my top ten reasons:

1      I like to go out to eat on my birthday
2      I don't like to go out to eat on weekends
3      I tend to confuse matters which are simple to normal folks
4      I like the chili feed on Sundays
5      Deferring to the following Sunday may interfere with july 4th celebrations
6      I tend to confuse matters which are simple to normal folks
7      I like to have two (or more) parties
8      It's easier to get reservations during the week
9      Saturday is the day to make chili - it's in the bible
10    It's my party and I'll cry if I want to

To further complicate matters this year, there are a number of activities the week before which should be attended by some potential partygoers. I am already competing with gay pride week, the giants-A's game and the kate wolf festival. I guess I should be grateful I'm not a gay folkie jock - an abundance of choices.

So here are the options I am working with:

    Brunch or Lunch or Supper on Sunday June 26th
    Chili Party on Sunday, July 3rd (or a Sunday later in month)
    Sushi and Jazz (Charles Lloyd) at Yoshi's on Sunday June 26th
    Chili Party on Sunday, July 3rd (or a Sunday later in month)
    Chez Pani.................

Bulletin! Bulletin! Bulletin!

After pressure from the ranks, I have made a decision
Or at least a half decision
We have Steve's deck reserved for Sunday the 26th
This means I will be a target for your abuse all day

One thing different (with precedent)
Because it's my birthday, I am not going to make my chili
I want to have some grub catered for the occasion
I am open to suggestions - just remember we are working with the budget
    of someone who has never been able to control his budget

I will conspire with Steve as to a chili party on the deck later in the summer
Fog and cornbread - the path to enlightenment

Now as far as going out for my birthday,
    I will make myself available to anyone kind enough to offer
